Spring has begun....I think

I saw a robin on my neighbor's house yesterday! My mom always said that is how we know spring has arrived:). With spring has come many projects to finally make this house ours:) last weekend, as you saw, we put Lainey's room together after brad painted it. This weekend brad painted Benjamin's room:) we are hanging the last of the curtains and will continue the last few rooms to paint!

Angelynn had open gym (free practice to work tricks), a friend over for a movie night and she dog sat our neighbor's dog;)

Landon had tball and we had a BBQ at his friend Tristan's house. (We are friends with their family as a whole).

Laine is a fire cracker this weekend. She's our resident punky Brewster:) I swear that girl is going to be a fashion designer! She got to drive a power wheel for the first time and LOVED it.

Brad and I rented Lincoln from redbox and are hoping to watch it tonight:) we got our shirts signed up for, for softball too! He is pa-paw and I'm honey biscuit. (Pa-paw after Phil Robertson on duck dynast and honey biscuit after miss Kay's saying). We are so excited to get started!

Benjamin is loving solids:) and is a total snuggle buddy. Boy is he our little red headed smile monster!

As I'm settling in I realize I'm more like my mom than I ever thought possible. Planning my decorating around antiques, sewing for pleasure, drinking iced tea, and using hot rollers to get my hair ready for church (something I swore I'd never do lol). I'm glad I have a great mother to follow!

My sweet husband brought me flowers this week! What a treat! He's really a catch. Lucky me! We are coming up on 9 years together (7 married)! Wowza!

Keepin busy while playing the waiting game....

We have heard nothing from our proposal, and I'm not surprised. The days are ticking away until trial. Which is fine too! Either way, this thing gets settled soon. That will be a great relief to us all. So, as we wait we are keeping busy!

Angelynn is prepping for her talent show appearance (singing "every time we touch" by Cascada) and will attend open gym tomorrow. Landon has tball tonight and we will BBQ with some friends (who's son in on his team) tomorrow.:) Laine is a princess as always and Benjamin will keep us grinning. We bought paint for Benjamin's room and the master bedroom, hoping to complete those this weekend. Yay!!!! I'm sure Bradley is ready to be done painting!! He's done an awesome job with his new paint gun. In hoping that part is a little fun;)

Laine likes to paint too, but her toes! WITH HER LIP GLOSS, hahahahhahaha! Silly girl! She is also always cooking in her little kitchen and "racing her babies" around the house in the stroller. She says they are going to "baby land."

Landon is reading amazingly well and can add and subtract faster than I can! I better keep him learning lots this summer.

Alive... I think

Wowza! Food poisoning or the stomach flu about did this lady in! Went to bed Monday feeling off and the next 24 hrs were rough! As usual Tuesday was planned very full so I was very worried about it! I couldn't even pack lunches or get kids ready. Moo had a headache so he and the smallies were home with me. Angelynn had to pack her own lunch (first time ever :(...) and we braved the day with movies and apples. Thank goodness for Netflix.

I reluctantly had to beg help for the afternoon. Becca took Angelynn to her banquet, Alyssa attended with her in my place and Ruth brought her home. Jennifer took moober to his first tball practice and brought him home. It was cute to see Laine mimic Angelynn getting ready in the bathroom and moo loved tball!

I was so happy to wake up feeling less like the walking dead! I was so sick I couldn't drink coffee!!!!!

This morning went much better. All to school, laundry going, went to Walmart to get Lysol and Gatorade, played pretend food with the Ls:) And enjoyed all my coffee! PTL!!!

Our proposal went off yesterday. Praying what's best for angel is what happens. We are all stressed. Looking forward to good weather approaching and more painting:)

A knot in my stomach!!

We are quickly approaching our trial date to decide visit schedules for Angelynn. We had an agreement, but her dad never signed it. So, here we are, a year later! No agreement and still negotiating. I just want Angelynn to be happy and well cared for. This whole deal causes a lot of stress, for all involved! So, please say a prayer that all works out in her best interest.

This weekend was busy! Angelynn was a bridesmaid in a wedding and brad ran sound. Angelynn then got the tummy bug all night and Sunday. Benny was fussy after shots and it yet again snowed:( my friend Jennifer and I got our bountiful baskets ( lots of yummies!!). It was fun to see family at the pickup site:) it is starting to feel more and more like home.

Brad painted Lainey's room, Cinderella blue and sleeping beauty pink:) next weekend we are hoping to do our room and Benjamin's room:)

Laine and I baked cookies today, yummy! Tonight we will eat our leftover soup. Lots of love on this snowy day!!

Poor kiddo

Today was "shot day" for Benny:( he got 3 and is feeling yucky. He just wants to nurse and be held. So that is exactly what I am doing. Laine is snuggled in next to us and I'm tickling her back. Brad, Angelynn and Landon are at a wedding rehearsal for some friends. As I lay here loving on my two smallest I am reminded of all the times my parents nursed me back to health and loved me to sleep.

As most of you know, I was a pretty sick little kid. I has chronic kidney infections which lead me to the loss of my left kidney at age 6. Pretty painful stuff for a wee one. Unfortunately, I was old enough to remember a lot of it. Many times the antibiotics made my stomach sick and the fevers caused nightmares and general discomfort, not to mention the flank pain associated with this ailment. My parents ALWAYS tried so hard to help me through. My mother rocked me to sleep so many times wearing her cream sweater and tickled my back for hours. My father spent many nights next to my bed (home or hospital) watching over me and reading me stories in his special voices. He even created stories about a bunny and a puppy which were me absolute favorite. They must've been so tired but they always were there. I hope I can be half the parent my folks are. It makes me so sad to see my kids hurting. As for now I am going to savor every moment to hold my Children close and care for them when they are sad or sick. What a blessing they are! Time moves too fast and I don't want to miss any of it.

Laine loves Ben and is sad he is hurting so what does she do when he cries?? She offers to nurse him of course. What a love!

Glad it is come home day!

This week has been a busy one!!
Monday was grocery shopping, glasses ordering, gymnastics and send off day.
Tuesday was send food for teachers, tball ( grateful it was cancelled cuz it was COLD), gymnastics and catchup. Wed was clean day, clean your room Wednesday, talent show auditions (angel), and a haircut for moo. Today was picture day for moo (and big and Ben), gymnastics, fence quote, garbage day, and I'm sure I forgot something! Tomorrow Ben has his checkup and its rehearsal for a wedding! Whew!!

In all this hustle and bustle I am reminded how fast time passes. Everyday I have gotten lots of chances to play! Wii ghosts, waltzing with a princess, fighting decepticons, tickling, laughing and just enjoying these four blessings:)

I'm so proud of them! Ben is eating solids, Laine is pretending (playing babies and cooking in her kitchen), Landon is trading and adding up a storm, Angelynn bravely auditioned alone for talent show when her partner didn't show (way to go kiddo!!). I have managed real pants all week lol!
